Adults’ group levels

Choose from the following range of courses:

  • Discovery
    Discovery of alpine skiing for absolute beginners. Objective within one week: simple linked turns on green runs and easy blue runs. Use of the drag-lift and speed control. Skier will learn to stop by himself.

  • Level 1 (green and easy blue runs)
    A few days to a week’s skiing experience. Control of elementary turns on easy blue runs. Initiation to basic parallels turns. This level is also ideal for those who need to regain confidence.

  • Level 2 (blue runs)
    Two to four weeks’ skiing experience. Gain confidence, fine tune parallel turns and improve your style. This course will help improve your basic skiing technique and add agility and fluidity to your skiing.

  • Level 3 (blue and red runs)
    Parallel turns; good speed control on blue runs. Initiation on red runs and discovery of perfect parallel turns. Initiation to carving.

  • Level 4 (red and black runs)
    Parallel turns on red runs. Initiation to short turns and bumps. Speed control on steep descents. Initiation to off piste skiing (weather permitting).

  • Steep ‘n Deep
    Skier is able to advance easily on all pistes and has total speed control. This course is perfect if you wish to move higher and steeper. Program: « off piste and powder snow », improvement on steep descents. Off piste kit included: arva, shovel, probe and rucksack.

  • Scaredy Cat (3 afternoons, Val d’Isère only)
    Scaredy Cat groups are generally available from beginners to Level 2 (subject to a minimum of 3 people per group) and is suited for nervous skiers at basic levels.


Please note: The above are general guidelines based on average levels of experience. It is very important to start off in a group corresponding to your level. Should your level not quite correspond to the group you start off in, you will automatically be moved to a  group more adapted to you. This decision remains at the instructor’s discretion. We try to avoid situations where you might lose your confidence on the first day.
