Short HistoryThe 3-Valleys is one of the largest linked ski areas in the world with 600 kilometres of prepared and maintained pistes. Discover panoramas and magnificent scenery stretching from the Mont Blanc massif in the north to the Les Ecrins massif in the south, as well as a unique view over the Swiss and Italian Alps to the north and east that the 3 Valleys offer. In a few hours you can reach the summit of the 3 Valleys massif, the Pointe de Thorens (3266 m) at Val Thorens, by means of the efficient and rapid ski lifts in the area.
Both at the beginning and end of the season, enjoy top-quality snow and a buzzing ambiance. 
HighlightsWinter Fireworks FestivalIt's not exactly the most environmentally friendly of festivals, but it’s definitely worth the 'oohing' and 'ahhing' like children, as excited spectators crane their necks skywards to watch the incredible fireworks displays in Courchevel.
The International Festival of Pyrotechnic Art first came to Courchevel in 2003 and with such a dramatic backdrop for these fireworks and music spectaculars, the competition has been held in Courchevel ever since.
The rules are really quite strict, with all competitors required to include a set piece of 1'15 to 1'30 minutes' duration without music, on a specific theme, with the whole show being between 14 and 16 minutes long.
Judges look at the overall impression of the display, the colours, shapes and purity of the fireworks used, the collaboration between music and fireworks, synchronisation, the use of space and the interpretation of the theme.
