Speed Riding with Oxygène
Speed Riding is now part of the Oxygène Val d’Isère Wintersports Programme.
Speed Riding is similar to the sport Speed Flying in that it uses a small, fast mattress style wing to glide over the ground. However with Speed Riding this is not done on foot but on skis!
It requires both paragliding and skiing skills to be used at the same time and therefore should be learned gradually. Our recommended instructors can make sure this fantastic new adrenalin sport on skis is learnt in complete safety.
Available throughout the Winter season conditions permitting.
Cost: €140.00, 4 hours, 09.00-13.00 (minimum numbers required)

An interview with Rob
Oxygène caught up with Rob, founder of the Turikho school cause and one third of our 'Fresh Air Campaign'. Our aim together is to work towards a better world for children everywhere
How did you come across the Trikho School?
I first went there in May 2008 purely by chance, whilst I was travelling on my own and trekking in northern Pakistan and I met the young guy 'Shuaib'. He found me a place on a transport jeep to get to the Turikho valley and then insisted that I stay with his family during my time there.
How big is the Turikho village?
There are about 600 people in the villages located in the vicinity of the schools, and over 70% of them are children.
Turikho is located near the Afghanistan boarder; it must be quite dangerous for Westerners to go?
Yes - the valley joins onto the Afghan border so is considered strategically at risk from insurgents. The Police in Chitral were not keen for me to be travelling anywhere in the region and were very afraid that I would become bad publicity, for example if I had been kidnapped or murdered! So they sent armed guards with kalashnikovs with me everywhere I went, they also slept by my tent and surrounded Shuaibs house all night.
