Off Piste & Guiding

Discover fresh, untouched snow with our highly qualified off piste instructors & guides

Your session includes all security equipment which is essential to a good day off piste:
  • ARVA search device 
  • Probe
  • Snow shovel

Your High Mountain Guide will be equiped with a First Aid Kit as well as a “Security Vanoise” radio.

Please note:
  • For your first time off piste, we recommend 3 to 4 hours, which includes technical tuition as well as discovery of the domain.
  • For itineraries such as the North Face (la Plagne), you will need at least 4 hours.
  • Passage to the VANOISE area (la Plagne) is not included in our rates.
  • On the Tarentaise Tour (Val d’Isère to la Plagne) rates do not include road transport and Paradiski passes.

Please ask us about the North Face Trail (la Plagne) and the Tarentaise Tour (Val d’Isère) and other interesting freeride itineraries.

Heliskiing (available from January 2010)

The ultimate thrill

All Heliskiing trips take off from La Rosière, which is the only resort in Savoie able to offer helicopter drops over the Val d'Aoste massifs, being situated right on the Italian border. Departures from Val d'Isere are available on request but flights will still pass over la Rosière.

An unforgettable flight from the Petit-St-Bernard pass takes you over fabulous off-piste itineraries for both skiers and snowboarders:
  • The Ruitor : at an altitude of 3300 metres - with a 2100 metre vertical drop 
  • The Miravidi : at an altitude of 3065 metres - with a 1800 metre vertical drop 
  • The Freduaz : at an altitude of 2900 metres - with a 1700 metre vertical drop 
  • The Mont Ouille : at an altitude of 3099 metres 

These excursions are lead by High Mountain Guides and comprise of single or multiple drops. This activity is perfect for powder lovers and freeride skiers. A good fitness level is of utmost importance, along with a certain amount of technical skill.

ARVA Initiation Class Save and be Saved

The ARVA search device is essential on an off piste excursion

Finding a member of your party is never easy, you need to stay level-headed in order to take control of the situation. We there for recommend our security initiation course.

Regulations require you to have the following articles when going off piste:
  • ARVA search device
  • Fold-up snow shovel
  • Probe: 2.40m
  • Survival blanket
  • First aid kit
  • Mobile phone
  • Energy bars and water
